Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, your English/French-speaking driver-guide from Usoke Explorers will welcome you. Depending on your arrival time, you will enjoy a Kigali City Tour, visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the bustling Kimironko Market (the largest in Kigali), and Nyamirambo where Kigali as a capital started. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2
Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast, depart Kigali for Nyungwe National Park in southwest Rwanda. En route, stop at the Royal Palace Museum in the southern province to learn about Rwanda's traditional kingship and cultural history. Continue the scenic drive through Rwanda's rolling hills, arriving at Nyungwe in the evening. Check in, enjoy dinner, and overnight.

After an early breakfast, head into Nyungwe's vast tropical rainforest for chimpanzee tracking. Nyungwe covers over 1,000 square kilometers and is home to 13 primate species, over 275 bird species, and 100 orchid varieties. After trekking, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy the Nyungwe Canopy Walk a suspended bridge 70 metres above the forest floor, offering panoramic views of the park and its wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, check out and drive northwest to Volcanoes National Park (Parc National des Volcans), one of Africa's most iconic conservation areas. The journey offers beautiful views of Rwanda's rolling hills, famously known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills." The park protects the slopes of the Virunga Mountains a chain of five dormant volcanoes: Karisimbi (4,507m), Bisoke, Sabyinyo, Gahinga, and Muhabura. Established in 1925, it is the oldest national park in Africa and was originally created to protect mountain gorillas from poaching. It is also where primatologist Dian Fossey set up her Karisoke Research Center in 1967, dedicating her life to gorilla conservation. Today, the park is home to 12 habituated gorilla groups, offering one of the world's most consistent gorilla trekking experiences. Beyond gorillas, it shelters golden monkeys, forest elephants, buffalo, and over 178 bird species. Arrive at your lodge in the evening.

This is the highlight of your safari. Wake early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing. You will be assigned to a gorilla family and begin your trek through the bamboo and montane forests of Volcanoes National Park. Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour with the gorillas observing the silverback, mothers with infants, and juveniles playing. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the scenic twin lakes Bulera and Ruhondo before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast at 8:00 AM, depart for Akagera National Park Rwanda's only savannah park, home to the Big Five Enjoy a game drive, watch the lions, leopard, elephants etc. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Ihema, spotting waterbirds, crocodiles, and hippos. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in Akagera National Park. Search for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and occasional lion and rhino sightings. The park's diverse landscapes include savannah, woodland, and lakes. In the evening, return to the lodge and prepare for a night game drive to spot nocturnal wildlife—leopards, hyenas, jackals, and other night animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
