Day 1

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or Entebbe International Airport before setting off towards western Uganda.

Enjoy a scenic drive through rolling hills, traditional villages and lush countryside. Along the way, stop at the famous Uganda Equator in Kayabwe for memorable photographs and an opportunity to stand in both hemispheres at once.

Continue through Mbarara before arriving at Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After lunch, head out on an afternoon game drive across the wildlife-rich Kasenyi Plains, home to large herds of Uganda kob, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs and predators including lions and leopards.

Explore the expansive Kasenyi Plains in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, waterbucks, giant forest hogs and numerous antelope species. Your experienced safari guide will track wildlife using recent sightings and animal movements to maximise your viewing opportunities.

Return to the lodge for breakfast before relaxing. In the afternoon, enjoy one of Africa's finest wildlife boat safaris. After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and travel south through the remote Ishasha Sector, internationally renowned for its remarkable tree-climbing lions.

Continue through spectacular countryside into the mountainous landscapes surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas.

For a truly unforgettable experience, upgrade to mountain gorilla trekking. After a ranger briefing, venture into Bwindi's rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek takes 2–8 hours, depending on the gorillas' location, before rewarding you with a magical one-hour encounter with these incredible primates in their natural habitat.
