Jambo, and welcome to your Tanzanian calving season safari adventure!

Your adventure begins as we journey from Arusha into the heart of Tarangire National Park, a dramatic sanctuary famous for its ancient baobab trees and sprawling elephant herds. As we explore the winding riverbanks, keep your camera ready for lions resting in the shade of acacias, towering giraffes browsing the lush foliage, and colorful birds fluttering through the canopy.

We will enjoy a delicious bush lunch out on the wild plains surrounded by nature's soothing sounds.

In the late afternoon, we ascend into the cool, green crater highlands toward Marera Valley Lodge, where a warm, freshly prepared dinner and a restful night await.

Day 2

Karatu to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu)

Karatu to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu)

After a morning breakfast, we travel across the scenic highlands toward the sweeping short-grass plains of the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu. This fertile region erupts into vibrant life as thousands of wildebeest gather for the calving season, drawing stealthy cheetahs, pride lions, and opportunistic hyenas into heart-pounding predator action.

We will pause to enjoy an appetizing picnic lunch right in the middle of the open savanna while soaking in the vast, unbroken horizons.

As the golden sun dips below the acacia-dotted landscape, we make our way to Sero Tented Camp for an exquisite dinner and a peaceful evening under canvas.

Day 3

Southern Serengeti (Ndutu) to Karatu

Wake up to the gentle sounds of the African wilderness and set out on a thrilling early morning game drive across the fertile Ndutu plains. Catch active big cats on the prowl and photograph newborn calves taking their very first tentative steps along the shores of Lake Ndutu.

Following an unforgettable morning filled with world-class wildlife encounters, we will stop for a lovely bush lunch out on the savanna before winding our way back toward the lush hills of Karatu.

You will arrive back at Marera Valley Lodge in the late afternoon to unwind, enjoy a cozy hot dinner, and share stories around the open fire.

We descend early into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, an ancient volcanic caldera teeming with over twenty-five thousand large mammals. The crater floor offers your absolute best opportunity to spot the endangered black rhino alongside massive bull elephants, wallowing hippos, and proud lion prides roaming near the soda lake.

A picturesque picnic lunch by the hippo pool lets you soak in the scenery before we ascend back to the rim. Afterwards, you will be comfortably dropped off at a place of your choosing in Arusha or the airport.
