Day 1

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park & Bigodi Wetland

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or preferred location in Entebbe by your Menlyn Tours & Travel guide. Begin the scenic journey westwards towards Kibale Forest National Park, one of Uganda’s best destinations for primate experiences. Travel through the countryside, passing local communities, farms, towns, and beautiful landscapes. Enjoy lunch at a suitable stop along the way before continuing to Kibale. In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk. Explore the wetland’s rich vegetation while looking out for monkeys, birds, butterflies, and other wildlife. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer to Bwindi

Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer to Bwindi

After an early breakfast, proceed to the Kibale park headquarters for registration and a briefing. Accompanied by an experienced ranger guide, enter the tropical rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzee communities. The trek may take several hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees and the forest conditions. Along the way, you may encounter other primates, birds, and forest wildlife. Once the chimpanzees are located, enjoy time observing their behavior and interactions in their natural environment. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch before beginning your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive in the afternoon or evening, check in, relax, and prepare for tomorrow’s gorilla trek.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience

Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing before starting your gorilla trekking adventure. With an experienced ranger guide, enter the dense Bwindi rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas and the terrain. Once you find the family, spend time observing their behavior, feeding, grooming, and interactions in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later, visit a Batwa community and learn about their traditional lifestyle, heritage, music, and historic connection with the Bwindi Forest. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4

Transfer Back to Entebbe

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin your journey back to Entebbe. Enjoy the scenic landscapes of southwestern Uganda as you travel through rolling hills, farmlands, towns, and local communities. Have a lunch stop along the way before continuing towards central Uganda. Depending on your schedule, make a stop at the Equator for photographs, souvenirs, and a short break. Continue towards Entebbe and arrive later in the afternoon or evening. You will be dropped off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport, marking the end of your memorable 4-day Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee primate safari.
