Kigali – Akagera National Park – Game Drive & Lake Ihema Boat Safari

Your luxury Rwanda safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or agreed location in Kigali. Meet your professional safari driver-guide and travel east through Rwanda's beautiful countryside toward Akagera National Park.

After arriving at the park, begin exploring Akagera's diverse landscapes on a game drive. Keep your camera ready as you search for giraffes, zebras, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, baboons and other wildlife inhabiting the park's savannah and woodland areas.

Later, enjoy one of Akagera's signature experiences—a boat safari on Lake Ihema. From the water, look out for pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles and abundant waterbirds while enjoying a completely different perspective of the park. Akagera currently schedules boat excursions at several times during the day.

Akagera Morning Game Drive – Kigali

After an early breakfast, set out for another exciting game drive through Akagera National Park.

The morning hours provide another opportunity to search for some of the park's larger mammals and predators. Your guide will explore different habitats as you look for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and, with some luck, lions, rhinos and other elusive wildlife.

Enjoy the changing scenery as the route takes you through open plains, acacia woodland, wetlands and areas overlooking Akagera's beautiful lakes.

After your game drive, begin the journey back to Kigali. Depending on your onward arrangements, you will be dropped off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your Akagera Safari.
