Afterward, head north through Rwanda's beautiful countryside toward Volcanoes National Park, enjoying stunning mountain views along the way. Along the route, stop at the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to discover the inspiring conservation efforts dedicated to protecting Rwanda's mountain gorillas. Finally, you will arrive at your lodge in the foothills of the Virunga Mountains, where you can unwind and enjoy an overnight stay.

Gorilla Trekking Adventure in the Virunga Mountains

Wake up early for breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. After the briefing, set off into the misty Virunga Mountains in search of one of Rwanda’s habituated mountain gorilla families. Trek through the lush forest while enjoying the stunning mountain scenery and the sounds of the surrounding wilderness. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend an unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat and witnessing their unique interactions and behaviors. After the trek, return to the lodge to relax and enjoy the evening. For those seeking more adventure, an optional hike on the Dian Fossey Trail is available in the afternoon.
