Your Uganda adventure begins with a morning pick-up from Entebbe or Kampala and a scenic drive southwest towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through changing landscapes, from busy towns to quiet countryside, terraced hills and local communities. Make a stop at the Equator for photographs before continuing towards the forested highlands of southwestern Uganda. Enjoy lunch en route and proceed to Bwindi, arriving later in the afternoon or evening. Check into your lodge, unwind and prepare for the following day’s gorilla adventure. Dinner and overnight at your selected lodge in Bwindi.

Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing before entering Bwindi’s ancient rainforest. Your gorilla trek may take several hours as you follow forest trails in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once located, spend a magical hour observing their movements, relationships and daily behavior from a respectful distance. Return to the lodge for lunch and time to relax. Later, connect with the Batwa community for a cultural experience that introduces you to their traditional forest heritage, stories and way of life. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, leave the dramatic hills of Bwindi behind and travel towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive offers beautiful views of southwestern Uganda, with opportunities to see rural communities, farms and the changing scenery along the route. Depending on your chosen route and timing, you may travel through the Ishasha sector, known for its famous tree-climbing lions. Continue towards the northern part of the park and your lodge. After check-in, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. If time allows, take an optional evening game drive before dinner and an overnight stay at your Queen Elizabeth lodge.

Begin the day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains, when wildlife is particularly active. Search for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, antelopes and predators such as lions and leopards. Return to the lodge for breakfast or lunch and enjoy some downtime during the warmest part of the day. In the afternoon, head to the Kazinga Channel for a memorable boat cruise. As you glide between Lake Edward and Lake George, watch hippos gathering along the shores, crocodiles resting near the water and numerous bird species. Return for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy breakfast before departing Queen Elizabeth National Park for Kibale, travelling through the scenic landscapes surrounding the Rwenzori foothills and Fort Portal area. Arrive in the Kibale region and prepare for your forest experience. Depending on the trekking schedule, proceed to the starting point for a guided chimpanzee trek through the lush rainforest. Listen for calls from the canopy as your trackers search for chimpanzee communities moving through their natural habitat. You may also encounter other forest primates and birdlife along the trail. After the experience, transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

The return drive provides another opportunity to appreciate Uganda beyond its famous wildlife, passing through countryside, plantations, villages and bustling trading centres. Stop for lunch along the way and continue towards Kampala and Entebbe. Depending on your departure time, you may have an opportunity for a short shopping stop or refreshments before heading to the airport. Your guide will ensure a timely transfer to Entebbe International Airport, bringing your three-park Ugandan adventure to a close.
