Start the morning with an early breakfast before heading out for a full day of wildlife exploration in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Guests who wish to enjoy a different perspective can choose an optional sunrise hot-air balloon safari, followed by breakfast before continuing with the day’s activities.
Spend the day exploring the open savannah, searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, leopards, and other wildlife. Continue toward the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles can often be spotted along the water. Arrive around midday and enjoy lunch before taking some time to relax. Arrive in the Aberdare area around midday and enjoy lunch before continuing into the forested landscapes of Aberdare National Park. In the afternoon, explore the park on a game drive, watching for elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks, and other wildlife that inhabit the dense montane forest. Samburu is home to several species rarely seen in other parts of Kenya, including the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich. You may also encounter elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and numerous bird species during the game drives.
