Depart Gondar in the morning and drive north toward the Simien Mountains National Park, stopping briefly at park headquarters in Debark to arrange permits and pick up your mandatory scout. Continue into the breathtaking highlands to Sankaber. Enjoy a scenic introductory hike along the escarpment edge, keeping an eye out for foraging troops of endemic gelada monkeys and soaring lammergeyers.

Trek to Jinbar Waterfall & Geech Camp

Embark on an incredible high-altitude trek from Sankaber toward Geech Camp. Descend toward the dramatic Jinbar Waterfall, where the river plunges hundreds of meters into the deep gorge below. Ascend through valleys dotted with unique giant lobelia plants, arriving at Geech Camp in the late afternoon to catch an unforgettable sunset over the mountain plateaus.
