Journey to Bwindi Forest

Leave Entebbe with your private driver-guide and travel southwest through Uganda’s changing countryside toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Stop for lunch along the route and continue through the terraced highlands of the southwest. Arrive near the rainforest in the late afternoon, settle into your comfortable mid-range lodge and receive a briefing about the following day’s mountain gorilla trek before dinner.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking

After an early breakfast, continue to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing by expert rangers. Enter Bwindi’s rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family; the trek may take several hours depending on their location. Spend the permitted time observing and photographing the gorillas, enjoy a packed lunch and return through the forest to your lodge for a relaxed evening and dinner.

Lake Bunyonyi and Return

Enjoy breakfast, then leave Bwindi and travel to Lake Bunyonyi for panoramic views of its islands, terraced hills and calm highland waters. Spend time beside the lake and take in the scenery before beginning the return journey through southwestern Uganda. Stop for lunch along the route and reach Entebbe in the evening for drop-off at your agreed hotel or the airport, where this three-day journey ends.
