Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and assisted through immigration. You will then be transferred to your hotel, where a tour briefing will take place in the lobby. Kigali, known for its cleanliness and scenic hills, offers a warm and peaceful welcome to visitors. After check-in, you will have time to relax. Dinner will be at the hotel. The evening is free for you to unwind and prepare for the exciting days ahead. We will prebook your packed breakfast so that you collect in the morning.

Kigali - Volcanoes National Park | Mount Lake Bisoke

04h15: Early morning check-out. Collect your packed breakfast from reception and depart with your driver-guide for the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters, arriving at approximately 06h45. Enjoy a hot coffee before the 07h00 Mount Bisoke briefing, where park rangers will explain the trek and important safety guidelines. The hike begins shortly afterwards, taking you through bamboo forests, montane rainforest and rugged volcanic terrain. The round-trip trek typically takes 6–7 hours, depending on the group's pace and trail conditions. At the 3,711-metre summit, enjoy spectacular views of Mount Bisoke's iconic crater lake, often shrouded in mist. After descending, continue to your lodge for check-in and a well-deserved late lunch. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure to rest and recover before dinner and your overnight stay.

Volcanoes - Kigali | Gorilla Trek

06h30: After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters for the 07h00 Mountain Gorilla Trek briefing. Enjoy a complimentary Bourbon coffee before receiving an introduction to the trek, park regulations and gorilla etiquette. You will then be assigned a gorilla family based on your fitness level. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, hike through bamboo and montane forest in search of your assigned family. Once located, spend a memorable hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, groom, play and interact in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest before checking out. Drive back to Kigali, with an optional visit to the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund if time permits, before continuing to Kigali International Airport for your onward air transfer.
