Day 1

Your adventure begins early with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Drive to Marangu Gate on the eastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro, where you will complete registration and park entry procedures. Begin your guided trek along the famous Marangu Route through the lush rainforest towards Mandara Hut. Enjoy the peaceful mountain environment, beautiful vegetation, birds and, occasionally, monkeys. Take a packed lunch along the trail while enjoying the scenery. If time and energy allow, visit Maundi Crater for spectacular views. After exploring the area, descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate. Meet your driver and return to Arusha or Moshi, arriving in the evening after an unforgettable Kilimanjaro day hike.
