Day 1

On the first day of your safari, our English-speaking safari guide will pick you up from the hotel or airport. He will also brief you about the 3-Day Gorilla Trekking Safari before you begin your first experience in Kigali. You will begin with a city tour visiting the historical museum- (Kigali Genocide Memorial) and local markets. You will then stop by the Cafe and enjoy lunch before you begin your journey to Musanze for your dinner and overnight stay. The travel time typically takes between 2.5 to 3 hours by road, depending on traffic and local road conditions.
Depending on the arrival time, you may opt for a visit to the Gorilla Guardians Village to learn about Rwandan culture and traditions, or simply enjoy views of the surrounding Virunga volcanoes.
In the evening, enjoy dinner at the lodge and prepare for the following day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 2

Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Today, you will have an early breakfast before driving to the park headquarters at Kinigi for registration and a briefing by the ranger guides. You will be assigned a habituated gorilla family and receive instructions on trekking etiquette and safety.
With experienced ranger guides, enter the forested slopes of the Virunga Mountains to search for mountain gorillas. The trek can take a few hours or longer depending on the gorillas’ location and the terrain.
Once the gorillas are located, spend up to one hour observing their natural behaviour, including feeding, grooming, resting, and interactions between adults and young ones. This is a memorable opportunity to experience one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife encounters.
After trekking, you will return and meet your driver, who will drive you back to your lodge for lunch and a relaxing afternoon. You may choose to visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund or simply rest after your forest adventure.

Day 3
Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Kigali
Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, your guide will drive you to the Kinigi Park headquarters for your golden monkey trekking briefing. After the briefing, you begin your trekking experience through the bamboo forest with ranger guides to search for these endangered primates, famous for their bright golden-orange fur and energetic movements.
Once you finally find them, watch them leap through the bamboo, forage for food, and interact in their natural habitat. Compared with gorillas, golden monkeys are smaller and faster-moving, offering a different and equally rewarding wildlife experience.
After the trek, your guide will drive you back to the lodge, freshen up, have lunch and then begin the drive back to Kigali. Enjoy the scenic countryside along the way before being dropped off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport, depending on your arrangements.
