Addis Ababa to Awash National Park – Savanna Wildlife & Hot Springs

Depart the capital heading east toward the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at Awash National Park, set around the Awash River and an impressive waterfall. Enjoy an afternoon game drive across the Illala Salaam plains to spot Beisa oryx, Soemmerring's gazelle, Kudu, and numerous bird species, followed by a relaxing evening near the natural hot springs.

Awash to Lake Langano – Rift Valley Lakes & Birdwatching

Travel south through the scenic Rift Valley, stopping at Lake Ziway to boat among an abundance of waterbirds, pelicans, and fish eagles. Continue to Lake Langano, Ethiopia’s only bilharzia-free golden lake, framed by the Arsi mountains. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the lakeshore or taking a nature walk spotting forest monkeys and hornbills.

Take a morning boat safari on Lake Chamo to view massive Nile crocodiles (some over 6 meters long), pods of hippos, and countless waterbirds at the "Crocodile Market." In the afternoon, explore Nechisar National Park ("White Grass"), nestled between lakes Chamo and Abaya, keeping an eye out for Swayne's hartebeest, zebras, and various antelopes.
