Nairobi to Tsavo East

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or airport for a scenic drive to Tsavo East National Park. After entering through Bachuma Gate, you will enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge for check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, explore the open savannah plains surrounding Aruba Dam, a vital watering hole where you can track Tsavo’s legendary red-dusted elephants, giraffes, zebras, and active prides of lions before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Full Day Exploration of Tsavo East

Start the day with an exhilarating sunrise game drive when predators are most active, followed by a hearty breakfast back at the lodge. Mid-morning features a trip to Mudanda Rock, a massive quartzite outcrop where herds of elephants gather to drink from the natural catchment. After lunch, track wildlife along the Galana River to witness the rushing waters of Lugard Falls, home to giant basking crocodiles, before wrapping up your day with a campfire experience and dinner.

After breakfast, check out and take a morning transit game drive into the volcanic, rugged hills of Tsavo West National Park, arriving at your new lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, explore the dramatic black rock expanse of the Shetani Lava Flow and search for endangered black rhinos inside the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary. Conclude your adventure at the lush Mzima Springs, taking a guided walk to an underwater viewing tank to watch hippos and crocodiles before heading to your lodge for dinner.

Tsavo West to Nairobi

Enjoy a final breakfast at the lodge surrounded by the sounds of the African bush. After breakfast, complete your check-out process, load your luggage into the safari vehicle, and begin your departure journey out of the park. You will drive along the main highway back to Kenya's capital, arriving by mid-to-late afternoon. Your safari officially concludes with a convenient drop-off at your preferred Nairobi city hotel or directly at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
