Day 1
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, we will drive to Tarangire National Park for rewarding game drives. Tarangire National Park has one of the highest population densities of elephants anywhere in Tanzania, and its sparse vegetation, strewn with baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and special location. Before the rains, droves of gazelle, wildebeest, zebra, and giraffe migrate to Tarangire National Park’s scrub plains, where the last grazing land still remains.

Lake Manyara National Park - Central Serengeti National Park
Today you will transfer to the Serengeti via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will spend the full day exploring the amazing array of wildlife around the Central Serengeti. The Serengeti is a vast Tanzanian landscape that hosts one of Earth’s last remaining wildlife spectacles: the annual Great Migration, when a staggering number of herbivores trek across the Serengeti plains in search of water and fresh grass, with hungry predators following in their wake. The Serengeti’s endless plains provide an exceptional landscape for wildlife viewing; it truly is ultimate safari country. Animals often spotted in the Serengeti include elephants, hippos, lions, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, leopards, and more.

Western Serengeti National Park
Western Serengeti National Park
The Western Serengeti is the ideal location for marveling at the annual Great Migration of large herds of animals during this time of year. Animals often spotted here include elephants, hippos, lions, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, leopards, and more. The area can be fairly wet. Grasslands are lush and green, providing much-needed sustenance for the large wildebeest herds. The herds move slowly and predictably as the one-month-old calves are fed constantly. The glut of calves makes easy prey for predators. Expect many lion and leopard encounters.

Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
Today you enjoy a full day of game viewing on the Ngorongoro Crater floor. Sometimes called the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the crater won’t fail to take your breath away as you stand on the rim looking down at its 10-mile-wide floor filled with abundant wildlife. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world, covering approximately 260 sq km, with walls rising 600 meters from its floor. Before the Ngorongoro Volcano exploded and collapsed two million years ago, it was one of the world’s tallest mountains. Now, it is home to more than 30,000 large mammals, mainly gazelle, buffalo, eland, hartebeest, and warthog, and has the highest predator density in the world.
