Day 1
Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi National Park in Uganda

Our representative will pick you up at a hotel or guest house in Kigali city and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive to Uganda will go through Rwanda's northern town of Ruhengeri. You will then cross over into Uganda via the Kyanika border post. The drive continues through the nearby Kisoro town and finally to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey should take about 4-5 hours. Arriving at Bwindi early in the afternoon will give you an opportunity to do optional activities such as hiking, visiting the community, etc. Since Bwindi is closer to Kigali, it is possible to depart Kigali at around 11:00 AM Rwanda time.
Dinner and overnight at Bwindi National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Day 2
Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will head to the Bwindi National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will conduct the presentation that covers the basics of what to expect during the gorilla trek. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take from few to many hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest.

Day 3
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP via the Ishasha sector to spot tree-climbing lions

We will start the journey in the morning from Bwindi National Park and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. The tour will take you through the stunning landscapes of western Uganda. You will arrive at Queen Elizabeth national park in the late afternoon.
Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions
On the way from Bwindi National Park, we will drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, popularly known for the tree-climbing lions. Unlike their counterparts at the Kasenyi plains, the lions at Ishasha have found a way to climb the fig trees in to enjoy the warm temperatures available in the park. While the sighting of the tree-climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover at Ishasha is worth a visit!

Day 4

Kasenyi plains game drive
You will start the day with early morning breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, we proceed to the famed Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot various species of wild animals. Kasenyi plains dwell in the vast savannahs of the Albertine rift in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will be a morning full of adventure! Expect to encounter lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, topi, and bushbucks. While spotting the "Big Five" in the park is not guaranteed, on a lucky day, you may site leopards to make it the "Big Four." We will return to the lodge for lunch.
Kazinga channel boat cruise
After lunch, join the Kazinga channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a wide range of bird species on the channel waters.

Day 5
Trek chimps at Kalinzu forest and drive to Kigali or Kampala/Entebbe

After early morning breakfast, we will drive to the Kalinzu forest to experience trekking the chimpanzees in their forest home. If you are lucky on the trek, you might encounter other different species of monkeys in the Kalinzu forest. These include the colobus monkey, olive baboon, and red-tailed monkey. Transfer to Kigali after the chimp trek. It is also possible to drive to Kampala/Entebbe after the chimpanzee trek at Kalinzu forest.
