After an early breakfast at your camp, your safari guide will pick you up and begin the journey to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of wildlife viewing.
Your experienced guide will help you search for the Big Five and many other animals in their natural habitat.
The Ngorongoro Crater is an extraordinary natural wonder—a massive volcanic caldera covering 260 sq. km (100 sq. miles) in Northern Tanzania. It was formed around 2.5 million years ago, when a giant volcano exploded and its summit collapsed inward, creating the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world. Before this collapse, the mountain is believed to have rivaled Mount Kilimanjaro in size.
Today, the crater is a thriving sanctuary for wildlife and one of Africa’s most concentrated ecosystems.
Its 610-meter (2,000-foot) deep walls create a natural enclosure that supports approximately 30,000 animals.
