Day 1

Upon your arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, Discovery Transfer and Tours will pick you up and transfer you to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. The airport is located 45 km outside the city. You will be taken to Discovery Guest House for some rest before you go on a tour of the town in the afternoon. Dinner will be at your own expense at a restaurant of your choosing.

Day 2

Windhoek - Sossusvlei

Windhoek - Sossusvlei

We'll pick you up from your hotel or guesthouse between 7-8:00am and depart at 8:30am, heading south to the renowned Sossusvlei via the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass. There will be a stopover at a viewpoint to enjoy the endless views of the Namib. Lunch will be at the Solitaire oasis. You can expect to arrive at the lodge or campsite around 3-4:00pm. Given the intense afternoon heat, we recommend spending the rest of the day cooling off by the pool. An early bedtime is advised as an early wake-up is required the next morning.

Day 3

At sunrise, we'll visit the Sesriem Gate that leads to the remarkable Sossusvlei. We'll begin by ascending the scenic Dune 45, appreciating the beauty and vastness of the orange-colored landscape. Afterward, there will be an off-road drive to the Dead Vlei, a desert pan where ancient acacias stand dried-up and silent in an impressive open-air gallery. For those with enough energy, there's the option to climb one of the highest dunes on Earth, known as the “Big Daddy” or “Big Mama.” Following the morning excursion, we'll return to Sesriem for lunch and take a break for 1-2 hours. Once the heat subsides, we'll embark on a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon. These will be our final activities for the day.

Day 4

Namibia is a country of contrasts. Today we will move from desert to sea. Along the way we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse the Gaub and the Kuiseb passes, driving down to the dry riverbed at the bottom of the Kuiseb Canyon before climbing up the other side and watching the spectacular desert landscape unfold before us. Having arrived at the coast, we will make a stop in Walvis Bay to enjoy the view of flamingos and other birds in the lagoons. We will take a short break for lunch. Dinner will be at your own expense at a restaurant of your choosing. Your overnight stay will be in Swakopmund.

Today you’ll explore the quaint town of Swakopmund. You may wish to book an optional day tour (at your own expense) to go quad-biking or sandboarding, take a scenic flight over the Skeleton Coast or a catamaran cruise in Walvis Bay, or go on a guided tour through the Mondesa township. There are also numerous optional activities available for you to do on your own, including a visit to the aquarium, the crystal gallery, or various museums.

Day 6

In the morning, we’ll leave the coastal town of Swakopmund and head to Cape Cross to visit the Cape Fur Seal colony. Afterward, we'll head east into the desert, towards Brandberg Damaraland, one of the most magnificent and majestic places in Namibia. This area is home to elephants, giraffes, ostriches, and various antelope species.

Twyfelfontein

Twyfelfontein is a rocky site situated in the Kunene Region of northwestern Namibia. It contains around 2,000 rock carvings and in 2007, UNESCO approved it as a World Heritage Site. It is one of the largest and most important concentrations of rock art in Africa and was proclaimed a National Monument in 1952. Engage in a cultural and ethnic encounter with the Damara people at the Living Museum, set amidst the captivating nature, rock formations, and stunning landscape of Damaraland.

Day 8

Damaraland - Etosha National Park

Damaraland - Etosha National Park

After breakfast, we’ll leave Damaraland and travel to Etosha National Park. On the way we’ll visit a Damara village near Twyfelfontein to learn about the culture and traditions of this semi-nomadic people. We anticipate arriving in Etosha in the afternoon. We'll explore some sections of the park in search of various wildlife before reaching our respective accommodations just before sunset. Dinner will conclude the day, and rest is essential to ensure an early and refreshed start for the full-day game drive tomorrow.

Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park

An early start is recommended so you can experience nature and the fresh breeze here. After breakfast, we'll begin our game drive visiting waterholes and the Etosha pan (salt pan). We'll traverse the park in search of the “Big 4” and other animal species. A light lunch break will provide an opportunity to rest and gather energy for our next adventure. Following a short break, we'll visit our final waterhole, offering a final glimpse of Namibia's beauty. Before sunset, we'll return to our accommodation for dinner, where we can share stories and compare photos from the day's experiences.

Day 10

Etosha - Windhoek

Etosha - Windhoek

Be prepared for the long, scenic journey back to Windhoek. We’ll pass through towns and rural areas, stopping in the small town of Okahandja, the home of Namibia’s largest wood carving market. The stalls operate on a local co-operative basis and offer a vast array of Namibian souvenirs. We are due back in Windhoek in the afternoon before 4:00pm, unless prior arrangements are made. You will be dropped off at your accommodations.
