Day 1

Botanical Gardens, birding orientation

Early arrivals will be welcomed by an afternoon birding orientation at Entebbe Botanical gardens. Watch out for the Brown throated waver, golden backed weaver, yellow backed weaver, grey headed gull, long tailed cormorant, common squacco heron, yellow billed duck, pied kingfisher, giant kingfisher, swamp flycatcher, broad billed roller, black and white casqued hornbill, splendid glossy starling, black headed gonolek, orange weaver, red chested sunbird, slender billed weaver, Ross’s turaco, pied hornbill, crowned hornbill, open billed stork, great red warbler, sedge warbler, grey caped warbler and many other species.

Day 2

Mabamba Swamp - Lake Mburo National Park

After an early breakfast, birding at Mabamba swamp for the "mighty" shoebills one of the sought after bird. If you love birds, Shoebill should be a must see on your list Birding Mabamba swamp is quite productive not only for the shoebill but there several swamp bird species.
After, head to western part of Uganda specifically Lake Mburo National Park. Stop over at the equator and have a chance to stand at the Southern and Northern Hemispheres at the same time. Proceed to Mburo arriving in the evening.
Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock Lodge.

Day 3

Lake Mburo National park

Lake Mburo National park

Wake up to the free songs of the morning dove, deidrick cuckoo, grey-capped warbler and black-headed weaver and go for a rather early morning game drive. Lake Mburo is a home to several animal species including zebras, hippopotamus, impala, warthog, common eland, African buffalo and over 300 bird species. Predators may include the leopards, hyenas, genets, civets, jackals and serval cats, and since 2015 there is a population of Rothschild giraffes.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and relax the mid morning away. Afternoon boat trip on lake mburo from which the park derives its name. Free time or have a dip in Rwakobo's swimming pool.

Day 4

After breakfast begin the journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
Stop over for lunch on the way as you enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lush vegetation of Kigezi terraced hills. Proceed to the home of the mountain Gorillas.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest covers 32,000 ha and is known for its exceptional biodiversity, with more than 160 species of trees and over 100 species of ferns. Several birds and butterflies species can also be found there, as well as many endangered species, including the mountain gorilla.

Day 5

Breakfast and set off for an adventure of a life time. Meeting these forest giants is not only captivating but will leave you amazed at Gods creation.
Gorillas live in families just like human beings and there is a hierarchy of who is in change of a family being the dominant male aka silver back in this case. Mothers are often seen grooming their young ones as the play around.
Return to the lodge for lunch and have a guided birding trip in the afternoon in the forest.
Return to the lodge for Dinner and over night.

Bwindi - Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for another exciting birding/ game experience. The park was Classified as an Important Birding Area (IBA) by Birding International.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is a is a home to over 600 bird species. Key species include the Martial Eagle, Black-rumped Buttonquail, African Skimmer, Chapin’s Flycatcher, Pinkbacked Pelican, African Broadbill, Verreaux’s Eagle Owl, Black Bee-eater, White-tailed Lark, White-winged Warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, Papyrus Canary, Corncrake, Lesser and Greater Flamingo, Shoebill, Bar-tailed Godwit. Don’t miss these birding hot spots, Kazinga Channel, Kasenyi Area, Mweya Peninsula, Maramagambo Forest, Lake Kikorongo, Katunguru Bridge area and Katwe Area.
You will enjoy birding as you connect to queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha Sector. There chances of seeing tree climbing lions along Ishasha. We will encounter other game like Elephants, buffalos, kobs as we drive to Irungu Forest lodge.

Day 7

Morning game drive, bush breakfast and return to the lodge in time enough for lunch.
Afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel for another exciting moment. Kazinga Channel harbors a huge population of hippos and crocodiles. On a typical hot day, the banks attract a profusion of big game, that come to drink, cool off, shower & eat the fresh grass along the channel. Elephants, Buffaloes, Monitor Lizards, Antelopes are common, while the predators like Lions, Leopards, Hyenas do appear but briefly, mainly for a drink and a possible easy kill.

Later drive to Maramagambo Forest and look out for Yellow-bellied and Jameson’s Wattle-eyes, Black Bee-eater, Brown and Grey-chested Illadopsis, Shinning Blue Kingfisher, Brown-eared Woodpeckers, Narina Trogon, Least Honey guide, Grey Greenbul, Brown-chested Alethe, among others or opt to relax the evening away.

Day 8

Breakfast and begin the journey back to Entebbe. Lunch along the way, another chance at the equator, proceed arriving in the afternoon. If you have a late flight, freshen up and drop off at the airport or drop off at your preferred hotel.
