Arrive at Amakhala Safari Lodge in time for the afternoon safari activity. You have the option of a transfer from Gqberha (Port Elizabeth), or we can arrange a rental car for self-drive. On your first day, you will enjoy your first afternoon guided, shared game drive. The animals are waiting.

Amakhala Game Reserve

The morning game drive starts at sunrise. You will wake up for tea and coffee before sunrise, before the game drive starts. Then, you are off for 3 hours to find as many animals as possible before they all find trees to hide under in the heat of the day.

When the game drive returns to the lodge, you will be served a big cooked breakfast and have time to relax. You can sit by the pool, read a book, take a nap and absorb being out in the bush.

The afternoon game drive will start around 15:30 - 16:00, after high tea. It will last for +-3 hours, with a stop somewhere for sundowners. You will return to the lodge in the dark, with a spotlight to look for nocturnal animals.

After a final morning game drive and breakfast, it is time to depart Amakhala Safari Lodge. We will happily help with any add-on travel arrangements, including the Garden Route, Cape Town, Victoria Falls and more.
