Arusha / Lake Manyara National Park

Depart after breakfast and drive across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive. Although only 205sq miles in size, this enchanting park is noted for its beauty and incredibly lush acacia forest of giant fig and mahogany trees, which are home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park is also home to a large number of buffalos, giraffes, elephants, impalas and a Hippo lake, where large numbers of hippos usually gather. Well known for its birds (over 400 different species), Lake Manyara is one of the few places where you’ll be able to see the ground hornbill and the crested eagle. This park has become famous for the tree-climbing lions and the flamingos on the lake shore. The landscapes of this park are absolutely stunning, very different from the Serengeti. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the lodge.

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will be heading towards the Serengeti National Park via the beautiful high-lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA). Leaving the highlands behind, you will travel into the heart of wild Africa. You will arrive in time for a picnic lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive into the park.

Serengeti National Park / Ngorongoro Highland

After early breakfast at the lodge, you will have a morning game drive in the park while heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with packed lunch and game drive en-route. You will stopover at Olduvai Gorge, which (optional) boasts a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here, that the anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. You will arrive in time for leisure, dinner and an overnight at your lodge.

Ngorongoro Crater

Rise and shine! After breakfast at daybreak, you drive down into the crater. The massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – to spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. After an extensive game drive and a picnic for lunch, you will leave the caldera in the afternoon and head to back to Arusha/JRO International Airport.
