Day 1-2

Transfer to Victoria Falls

Transfer to Victoria Falls

Your driver will be waiting for you at the airport which is located 21 km southeast of Victoria Falls Town to transfer you to Dzimbahwe Guest Lodge located in the peaceful area of Victoria Falls closer to the game corridor and 3km to the mighty Victoria Falls Rainforest' stay here for two nights. Later towards sundown, you will be picked for the sunset dinner cruise offering splendid scenery with many hippos and crocodiles, including elephants which cross the river to feed on the islands and exotic birdlife. As magical sunset charm settles over the river, lanterns are lit and a wonderful three-course dinner is served. Prepare yourself the following day for a guided tour of the Falls in the morning. Later, you will go for a traditional local village tour. As the evening approaches, you will be picked for an unforgettable African experience infused with Zimbabwean cuisine, the buffet Boma dinner before tomorrow's early morning transfer to Hwange National Park.

Day 3-4

Hwange National Park

Hwange National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up for a drive approximately 2 hours long, passing through Hwange, a charming town dotted with villages within rural Africa to Ganda Lodge which overlooks the Ganda pan, a natural waterhole, that attracts a wide variety of bird and animal species including elephant, buffalo, lion and a variety of waterfowl. After lunch you will take a rest as you await to be picked by an experienced and informative guide for a night game drive through an estate harbouring nocturnals as hyenas, genets, civets, etc. Second day you'll enjoy the Hwange National Park day trip into Zimbabwe’s premier wildlife area on safari game drives through different routes. Later, you'll enjoy a picnic lunch and ride back into these rolling plains and see the last great free-ranging elephant population with nearly all major species and accompanying predators such as zebras, lions, impalas, and hyenas. You'll have the sundowner in nature and end the day with dinner at the lodge.

Day 5-6

Matobo National Park

After an experience at Hwange National Park and a quiet bushy sleep at Ganda Lodge, you'll depart with your driver after breakfast for Matobo Hills Lodge which is 52 km from the city center of Bulawayo. After check-in enjoy your lunch at this lodge that offers breathtaking views of Matobo Hills with its secluded bush surroundings. Enjoy your first night with dinner and expect to take away new insights, an appreciation for Africa and her people with an unforgettable experience of Matobo Day trip the following day. The second day you will experience an open safari vehicle with a professional guide offering the perfect opportunity to get up close to Zimbabwe’s wildlife, culture, and history as you enjoy a full-day tour within Matobo National Park where you'll track rhino on foot, a three-course meal picnic lunch; then, you'll go to ancient bushmen paintings concluding the day by heading to see Cecil John Rhodes's grave accompanied by beautiful sunset scenery.

Day 7

Great Zimbabwe

After an amazing stay at Cresta Churchill Hotel, you'll grab your breakfast and check out the hotel. You'll embark on a drive to Great Zimbabwe with your driver for an almost 3-hour journey passing through Masvingo which is a small town with palm-lined, wide streets and rather shabby buildings. It is 27 km away from the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. You will check in at the lodge at the Ancient City which is a unique hotel built around a granite outcrop in the same style as Great Zimbabwe, providing stunning views across the valley of Msasa towards the ancient city of Great Zimbabwe. You will relax by the poolside as you await dinner being prepared for you.

Day 8

Chiredzi

After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and your driver will take you to your guide who will tour with you in the ruins of this ancient place for almost 3 hours giving you an insight view of these old grandeur ruins of Great Zimbabwe. The ruins are known as the greatest medieval city in sub-Saharan Africa. The World Heritage–listed Great Zimbabwe is one of the nation's most treasured sights, so much so that the country was named after it. The tour will conclude late morning and you will be transferred to Kingfisher Lodge by your driver. You will check-in and stay for two nights at Kingfisher Lodge which is an exclusive Guest House tucked away in the little town of Chiredzi in the South East corner of Zimbabwe close to Gonorezhou National Park.

Day 9

Gonarezhou National Park

Gonarezhou National Park

“Gonarezhou” means “place of many elephants” and it is also a birder’s paradise. You'll set off for the Gonarezhou day trip in the morning armed with a packed lunch to experience this unique ecosystem and its astonishing flora and fauna. Here you have the chance to see 4 of Africa’s Big Five, including elephant, leopard, lion, and buffalo —as well as a multiplicity of other animal and bird species. You will journey through Chipanda pools, the Runde River home to aquatic wildlife such as the Zambezi shark, freshwater goby, black bream, and the unique turquoise killifish. One of the most prominent and enduring natural features of Gonarezhou are these majestic Chilojo Cliffs, striated red Jurassic/Cretaceous sandstone cliffs formed through eons of erosion and rising 180 meters above the river course. During your exploration, you will come across different antelope species, klipspringers from a rocky outcrop, kudus, impalas, lesser spotted eagles (Aquila pomarina), and fork-tailed drongos.

Day 10-11

Eastern Highlands

After an early breakfast, you will leave Chiredzi and head through the diverse scenery of farmlands, and rocky outcrops and into the mountainous area of the Eastern highlands, known as “the little England” of Zimbabwe. As you drive through the Honde Valley and the Eastern Highlands, you will arrive and check in at what has to be one of the best-kept secrets in the world, the Aberfoyle Lodge. It is situated in a special part of Zimbabwe with rolling tea plantations, riparian forests, and the Nyamkombe River surrounding the lodge. Before you reach Aberfoyle Lodge, you will pass through Mutarazi Falls for the Skywalk activity as you stretch yourself from a two-hour or so drive you had from Chiredzi. The following day, you will be taken by your guide for a nature walk/hiking within the Aberfoyle vast estate. After lunch, you will be picked for guided birding. If you are not into birds, you may choose from tree canopy tours, mountain biking trails, estate tours, and waterfall visits.

Day 12

Harare the Capital

Harare the Capital

Soon after breakfast, you will leave Aberfoyle Lodge for Harare, Zimbabwe's Capital City, and head to Cresta Lodge Harare. This town exposes an impeccably clean city, bustling with busy shops and wide open streets. It is also the most populous city of Zimbabwe; laid-back with wide avenues, lined with dusty red earth, indigenous plants, and blooming jacarandas giving it a lovely African summertime feel. You will spend your last night in the hospitable Cresta Lodge Harare set in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings located on the outskirts of Harare’s dynamic city center with an idyllic setting for your most memorable events. If time permits, you may optionally choose before your last night in Zimbabwe to enjoy a city tour of Harare and a visit to one of the biggest and oldest markets in Zimbabwe, Mbare Musika. Also, you might need to do some shopping for some African souvenirs.
