Nkasa Rupara National Park
This morning, you will transfer to Windhoek's second airport, Eros, for your scheduled domestic flight northeast to Katima Mulilo, near the Zambian border. Here, you will meet our closed 4x4s for your transfer to the beautiful Nkasa Rupara National Park.
You will arrive at your superb lodge in time for a late lunch, and you will begin your safari shortly thereafter with an afternoon game drive. This is a little-visited area but, nestled along the upper reaches of the Okavango, the game-viewing here can be truly superb. The thick grasses protect populations of red lechwe and sitatunga, the waterways support families of spotted-necked otters, and the surrounding savanna is frequented by herds of elephants and buffalos. The birding is also superb, both for waterfowl and savanna species.
After returning to the camp for dinner, you will have the rare privilege of heading out on a night drive in the Zambezi Region, targeting species as rare as aardvark and caracal.

Nkasa Rupara National Park
You will have a full day today to explore Nkasa Rupara today and search for its most enigmatic wildlife. Wildlife densities may be lower here than in nearby Botswana, but the cast of species is similar. Charismatic predators including leopards, lions, cheetahs, and wild dogs pass through, and unusual resident antelope include puku, sable, and roan. Nkasa Rupara is best known, though, for its lovely herds of elephants. You will combine an afternoon game drive with a boat trip on the river to view these gentle giants as they come to drink.
Again, you will head out on a night drive this evening, with a focus on big cats. Past visitors to Nkasa Rupara have even been lucky enough to spot ground pangolins, so you will keep your eyes peeled!

Bwabwata National Park
If time allows you will enjoy a final morning game drive in Nkasa Rupara today before transferring by road to Bwabwata National Park, which dominates this corner of Namibia. You will be arriving in time for a late lunch. You will have some time to settle into your lovely tented lodge before heading out on an afternoon game drive.
The waters of the Kwando River support the highest density of predators in this part of Namibia, and this is a particularly productive area for wild dogs. Your drive will be sure to pass by Horseshoe Lagoon, a known hotspot for these charismatic predators, as well as several other productive areas for cheetahs, lions, and even leopards. As we drive, sightings of elephants, buffalos, greater kudus, sables, and more are likely, as well as some superb birding. Thereafter, you will return to camp for dinner and some rest.

This morning, you will head west, taking the main road through the Caprivi Strip to the far western end of Bwabwata and the Mahangu Core Area. This area might lack the predator densities of Kwando but makes up for it with higher densities of general game, and some superb birding.
After a chance to settle in, an afternoon game drive will focus on unusual ungulate species, including roan, tsessebe, and sable, as well as small mammals and birds. If you are lucky, a pack of wild dogs may enter the park from neighboring Botswana during your stay. There is always the chance of a nomadic cheetah or leopard crossing your path.
After your afternoon game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and some rest.

Khaudum National Park
You are truly in the wilderness now! Khaudum National Park is probably Namibia's most remote destination, and one we are proud and excited to show you. Your first day will be spent navigating the deep sand of the north to make it to the northerly Khaudum Campsite, your base for the next four nights.
Your evening game drive will begin to reveal the isolation that makes Khaudum special. Contiguous with the game-rich areas of northern Botswana, Khaudum is home to many species rarely seen elsewhere in Namibia. Tsessebe, roan, and sable are all present in good numbers, and large predators use the sand roads as arterial routes, so sightings of lions and African wild dogs are surprisingly common. The elephants here have a reputation for grumpiness—one that is well-deserved—but keeping one's distance can lead to some magical encounters.
