Drive from Dar-es-Salaam to Mikumi

Early morning (6:30am) pick up at your hotel or airport in Dar es Salaam, introductions and briefing of tour program by our tour guide.
The journey will take about 6 to 7 hours, so you will get a good view of African hinterlands as we drive past local towns such as Kibaha and Morogoro. You will enjoy the scenic drive through rolling hills and rugged landscapes.
On arrival, you will check-in at the lodge and refresh.
Then in the late afternoon you will walk to the nearby Maasai village for a cultural tour and activities and take lots of special photos in traditional attire. Return to the beautiful lodge afterwards and relax at the bar and campfire with drinks as you await your dinner buffet.

Mikumi National Park

Full day of game drives at Mikumi National park
Enjoy a full day in the park starting with pick up at the lodge by our driver guide after your hot breakfast at 7:45 am.

What will you see during game drive in Mikumi NP?
The park it self is amazing with plenty of wildlife roaming freely, no fences anywhere. Its a very big park so the day will go before you know it.
At this park, you will see elephants, lions, antelopes, zebras, giraffes, impalas, hyena (usually in the evening or early morning only), buffalo, wildebeest, elands, hippos, leopard, lizards, and other small animals likes foxes, small moneys and wild rabbits. The park is also home to over 200 species of birds that have been observed.
Enjoy a hot lunch in the middle of the park at the Mikumi cottages restaurant. Refresh and stretch your legs.

Later, you will exit the park towards the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. The lodge is about 10 to 15 minutes drive away from the park gates.

Breakfast followed by drive back to the city

Today will be focused on getting you back safely to the city. Enjoy a hot breakfast at the lodge before departure. You will stop in Morogoro town for a hot lunch or bites if preferred. Continue back to Dar es Salaam and you be dropped off at your hotel.

If travelling to Zanzibar by ferry from Dar Es Salaam, we recommend an early start to ensure timely arrival at the ferry station for the last ferry scheduled for 16h00.
