Kigali to Bwindi Forest - Evening Batwa Community Experience

Enjoy an early breakfast and meet your safari driver-guide who will brief you on what this 2-day Bwindi Budget Gorilla Tour entails. You will drive via Cyanika or Katuna border to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which lies in the southwestern region of Uganda. The transfer will cover about 3-4 hours. En-route, enjoy the beautiful landscapes of northern Rwanda and southwestern Uganda.

Arrive early enough to check in at the lodge and have a rest. In the evening, you will take a walk to the historical Batwa pygmies for a cultural tour. You will learn about these infamous pygmies who are believed to have lived in the Bwindi and Gahinga forests for more than 500,000 years. You will be fascinated by their exceptional culture, traditional dances, songs, their family set-up and stories. Return to the lodge after this amazing experience for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Bwindi Gorilla Trek - Return to Kigali Departure

Wake up early enough to prepare and have breakfast, before departing your lodge to the park briefing at Banda. At 7:00 am, you are expected to be at the trailhead (as per your gorilla permit) to have a briefing on the gorilla trekking guidelines. You will be assigned to one gorilla family for tracking in a group of eight individuals. By 8:00 am, you will kickstart this lifetime adventure within Bwindi's mystic jungles.

You will be joined by a park ranger, guide and trackers who will take you through this adventure, as well as porters to carry heavy luggage. This primate adventure can last for about 2-6 hours, which also covers one hour of a magical face-to-face encounter. After your special time spent in these giant creatures' presence, return to the park headquarters and meet your driver-guide, ready to embark on the return journey to Kigali. This marks the end of your 2-day midrange Gorilla Tour in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
