Day 1

Start your adventure with a pick-up from your hotel, preferred location in Moshi or Arusha, or directly from the airport. A professional driver from African Wanderlust Adventures will transfer you to Machame Gate, about a 1-hour drive (35 km).

At the gate (1,800m), you’ll complete the necessary registration and receive your hiking permits. From here, your guided trek begins—ascending through the lush Montane forest filled with unique plant life like the Impatients Kilimanjaro, found only on this mountain. You may also spot wildlife such as Blue Monkeys and Black-and-White Colobus Monkeys.

The trail to Machame Camp (3,000m) is 11 km and takes about 4–5 hours each way. Enjoy scenic views and a packed lunch, included in your tour.

After a well-earned break at the camp, descend via the same route where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel or the airport—bringing your Kilimanjaro experience to a close in just one unforgettable day.
