Day 1

After check-in, if you arrive in the morning time, you will have a chance to proceed with the Bujumbura City tour for some hours.

Day 2

Transfer to Rumonge, grove palm tour

After breakfast, you will drive about 2hours from Bujumbura to reach Rumonge. You will drive through hills covered with greeneries that make your tour unique. You will reach Rumonge around 9 am, get out of your car and start exploring the Burundian lifestyles. Here, you do not have to walk long to reach a palm grove. You will find charming local people along the trails ready to pass you through their plantation. You can then take pleasant walks in the shade and freshness provided by the eleis. This will quite provide you with an unprecedented experience in the country of thousand hills.

Later in the afternoon after lunch, you will proceed with the Rumonge city tour and get to learn how this province of Burundi had been used as a strategic point by colons later in the Belgian colonization time. You will visit some of their constructions and graves dated more than 100 years.

Day 3

Fishing experience at Kinani Beach and village walk

Fishing experience at Kinani Beach and village walk

After your early breakfast, you will go to Kinani Beach, an artisanal sign by the side of the road, where naïve fish are drawn, which makes you want to learn more about the fishermen. Here, you will see canoes, children, reeds surrounding you, all ready to make your tour unforgettable. You will learn how here they fish and survive and how crocodiles still often attack in the human corner.
After your breakfast later in the afternoon, you will proceed with a village walk; it will present you with a unique opportunity in the life of rural Burundians and spend time with their families. They will teach you how to cook and taste what you have been fishing in the morning.

After your breakfast, you will drive about 2 hours towards Makamba. You will drive through high hills passing along Lake Tanganyika. Once you reach the high hills of Mabanda, you will explore the beauty of sceneries that the area has to offer, you will first drive in the roads passing along the lakeshores that present a unique opportunity of the extraordinary spot.
After your lunch, you will proceed with a nature walk.

After your breakfast, you will drive about 5hours to reach Bujumbura. In route, you will pass nearby migera in kabezi commune where you can take a small track on the right of the road for a few hundred meters, which reads to Akarava site. These are thermal waters that spring warm from the ground and give the grass that grows here a very special texture, hence the name Akarava.
The place once had certain notoriety with its three pools: men, women, and children designed for dipping, but the war affected this part of Bujumbura rural and the site deteriorated. The ponds are overgrown with weeds but this phenomenon and the natural formation it creates on the ground are worth a stop.
After this, you will drive some minutes to reach Bujumbura for your flight.
