Full Day at the Park

Full Day at the Park

After an early breakfast, depart for a morning game drive, the prime time to witness Meru’s wildlife as predators return from night hunts and herbivores gather to feed in the cooler hours. Explore the park’s diverse habitats—open savannahs, riverine forests, and lush swamps—home to large herds of elephants, prides of lions, elusive leopards and cheetahs, as well as rare species such as reticulated giraffes and Grevy’s zebras. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by the rich birdlife, with chances to spot kingfishers, hornbills, eagles, and numerous water birds along the rivers. Return to Elsa’s Kopje in time for a leisurely lunch, followed by a period of rest and relaxation. Later in the afternoon, head out on a guided evening game drive. This drive focuses not only on wildlife sightings but also on Meru’s conservation story. Return to the lodge after sunset for dinner and a peaceful evening under the African stars.

Full day at the Camp

Begin the day with a relaxed breakfast overlooking the vast Meru landscape, followed by a morning game drive or a guided nature walk around the lodge area. The walk offers an intimate look at Meru’s smaller details—indigenous plants, animal tracks, birdlife, and the unique rocky terrain surrounding Elsa’s Kopje—while game drives explore the park’s quieter regions, river systems and scenic viewpoints with minimal visitor traffic. Return to the lodge for lunch and a leisurely afternoon at your own pace. Unwind by the infinity pool, enjoy the panoramic views from your private veranda or simply relax in the peaceful atmosphere of the wilderness. In the late afternoon, head out for an optional sundowner experience at a scenic viewpoint or an evening game drive, as wildlife becomes active again in the cooler hours. Watch the sunset over the plains before returning to the lodge for dinner and a tranquil evening under the African stars.
