Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Our driver-guide will meet you at the airport or your hotel at 8:00am. From here, we depart for Masai Mara National Reserve, traveling via the Great Rift Valley. We will stop at a designated viewpoint to observe the breathtaking scenery and continue our journey to the reserve via Narok. We will arrive at Masai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch, followed by a late afternoon game drive. Your dinner and overnight stay are at Sanctuary Olonana Safari Lodge.

Masai Mara National Reserve

You spend the entire day on game drives in Masai Mara National Park. You will be able to spot the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo) amongst other wildlife.

You will visit the Mara River, situated close to the borders of Kenya and Tanzania. Here, you will have a chance to see hippos and enormous Nile crocodiles.

The crocodiles wait in anticipation of the annual migration as wildebeest cross the river in search of new pastures. The migration occurs between Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and Masai Mara in Kenya. From July to October, the promise of rain and fresh, life-giving grass in the north brings more than 1.3 million wildebeest together. The wildebeest pour across the border into the Mara, resulting in a spectacular sight stretching as far as the eye can see.

Masai Mara National Park to Nairobi

We will depart on an early morning game drive to see predators hunting. Predators like lions are more active in the morning, especially before sunrise. We might be lucky and see a lion killing its prey. Besides the wildlife, we also observe the land's beauty as the sun rises over the Masai Mara, a spectacular sight as the dotted hills of the land emerge from the darkness of the night.

After the morning game drive, we return to the lodge for breakfast.

After breakfast, we depart from Masai Mara National Park and travel to Nairobi, where we will arrive late afternoon. Depending on your request, we will drop you off at either your hotel or the airport.
