3-Day Wildlife Safari Adventure at Mikumi National Park

Pick-up from your hotel and drive to Mikumi National Park for afternoon game drive

We depart from Dar es Salaam at about 7 am. The drive to Mikumi via Morogoro is 300km on a tarmac road. In Morogoro town, a commercial hub, you will have a 30-minute lunch break and then proceed to the park.

On your way to Mikumi, you will spot the first animals like baboons, giraffes, elephants, zebras, and buffaloes from the main road which leads through the entrance gate of the national park. After checking in at the park, you will proceed with game viewing to the plains for lion, elephant, eland, warthog, as well as hippo, crocodile, and some aquatic birds at the Hippo Pools. Leopards are also seen in this park. This park is unique in the presence of baobab trees. Due to its rich habitat, more than 400 bird species can be spotted in the park.

Continue on the game drive until sunset when you will drive to Bastian Camp (or similar) for dinner and overnight. The camp is located outside of the park, only 5 minutes from the border.

Full-day game drive in the park with picnic lunch until sunset

After a delicious breakfast at the camp, our safari guide will pick you up for a full-day tour of the park. Today you will have more chances to view the animals in the varied Mikumi Floodplain and receive a lot of information from our safari guide. During lunch time, you will stop at the picnic site for lunch and then proceed with the game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight will be at Bastian Camp (or similar).

Journey to Dar es Salaam for drop-off at either airport, sea port or hotel

After a delicious breakfast, you will pack your belongings and check out from the camp to start your journey to Dar es Salaam. On the way, you will cross the park again. Proceed for 50km to Morogoro and have a lunch break at Msolwa Restaurant for lunch. You will then proceed on the 2-hour drive to Dar es Salaam for drop-off at your place of request.
