Day 1

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

You will be picked up by our safari guide from either a guest house or lodge in Entebbe or Kampala if you arrive a day before, or from Entebbe International Airport if you arrive in the very early morning hours. Then you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park through the small towns of Uganda. During the drive, you will have a stopover at the Equator line for a photograph and some informative talks and experiments. You will also enjoy an en-route game drive before arriving at your lodge or hotel for check-in and lunch. After lunch, you will have a boat ride on the lake to search for hippos, crocodiles, and water birds, among other wildlife species.

Day 2

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After enjoying a delicious breakfast in the early morning, you will embark on an exciting game drive through the various tracks of Lake Mburo National Park. During this drive, you can expect to spot a wide range of wildlife, including zebras, impalas, giraffes, elands, and many more. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge to refresh before continuing your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Southwestern Uganda, where you will spend the next two nights. The road trip itself will be a delightful experience, as you get to drive through local communities and towns while admiring the beautiful cascading and rolling hills of the Kigezi region.

Day 3

Gorilla Tracking Experience

Gorilla Tracking Experience

After enjoying an early morning breakfast, you will meet up with your guide and head to the Park headquarters to register and join other participants for the Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. During the briefing, you will be informed about the necessary precautions and guidelines to follow while trekking, to ensure everyone's safety.

Once the briefing is over, the trek will begin. You will be accompanied by ranger guides as you make your way through the beautiful and lush tropical rainforest of Bwindi, in search of the gorillas. The duration of the trek can vary and may range from thirty minutes to three-quarters of the day.

Once you locate the mountain gorilla family, you will have an hour to observe them and take pictures. At the end of the trek, you will be awarded a certificate to acknowledge your participation in gorilla trekking and for contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

Today, you will embark on a road trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park and spend two nights at Wildtracks Overland Lodge. The park is located in South-Western Uganda, along the Equator. During your journey, you will pass through the Ishasha sector and alongside the Maramagambo forest. You will also cross the western equator line monuments before arriving at your lodge.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is a popular and diverse conservation area in Uganda. It is located on the western rift valley floor and consists of a variety of habitats such as grassland, acacia woodland, forest, and water. These habitats have allowed for a wide variety of wildlife to thrive, including the Big 4 animals which you will have the opportunity to view during your stay.

Wildlife Viewing And Boat Cruise On Kazinga Channel In Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will go on a game drive in Kasenyi plains to view the wildlife. You will have a chance to see big herds of buffalos, antelopes, Uganda kobs, and warthogs. If luck is on your side, you might also spot lions and leopards. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, which is known as the highlight of all activities in this park.

This boat cruise along the Kazinga channel offers an opportunity to spot more than 400 species of water birds and many wild animals as they flock to this channel to drink water. Above all, the Kazinga channel has the highest concentration of hippos in the world.

Day 6

After having breakfast in the morning, you will begin a 3-4 hour drive to Kibale Forest National Park. While on the way, you will pass through Kasese town, where you will witness breathtaking views of the Rwenzori mountain ranges that form the backdrop of the horizon. You will drive through banana plantations on a road that winds through beautifully manicured hills until you reach your lodge in Kibale. Once you arrive and check in, you can either take a community walk around the nearby Bigodi town, where you can participate in activities such as banana juice making or local brew-making experience, or you can choose to relax in your lodge and contemplate the next day's activity.

Chimpanzee Tracking Experience And Bigodi Wetland Walk

After having breakfast in the early morning, you will drive to the Park headquarters to register and join other participants for a briefing on Chimpanzee trekking. During the briefing, you will learn about the dos and don’ts to ensure a safe and enjoyable Uganda Chimpanzee Trekking Tour.

After the briefing, you will trek through the tropical rainforest of Kibale Forest National Park with your ranger guides to locate the Chimpanzees. The trek can take anywhere from half an hour to three-quarters of the day. During the trek, you will have an opportunity to spot other wildlife including various bird species and tree species. Your guide will provide information about the flora and fauna to make the trek more interesting.

Before or after the Chimpanzee trek, you can opt to take the Bigodi Wetland Walk. This swamp is located adjacent to the Kibale forest and offers a chance to spot several birds, monkeys, and butterflies and experience nature.

Drive Back To Entebbe

Drive Back To Entebbe

Once you have finished your breakfast, you will be given a ride to either Kampala or Entebbe, passing through Fortportal Town and several small towns and luscious tea plantations along the way. You can choose to be dropped off at your post-tour accommodation, or fly out of Uganda on the same day. This marks the end of your tour.
