We’ll reach Tarangire National Park after traveling for about two hours from Arusha, arriving in plenty of time to explore the furthest reaches of this fascinating reserve. Tarangire is a place where towering baobabs dominate the sky, muddy rivers wind their way through dense acacia scrub, and elephants congregate in astounding numbers. Predators also abound in the woodlands of this scenic national park, and bird lovers will have their hands full cataloguing the reserve’s more than 500 species. We’ll linger over tea and breakfast this morning before departing from the mesmerizing Marera Valley Lodge to reach our next destination on our Tanzania Honeymoon Luxury Safari: the mighty Serengeti. This national park has become a household name all over the world, and for good reason. Nowhere else in Africa offers the opportunity to see so much wildlife in a single day, especially if your visit happens to coincide with the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Finding yourselves surrounded by a tremendous herd of antelopes in the middle of the Serengeti’s limitless savanna is an experience that’s guaranteed to bring you even closer to your spouse. Of course, the Serengeti is a spectacular destination at any time of year—especially when you’re lucky enough to be staying at the Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge. On today’s portion of your Tanzania Honeymoon Luxury Safari, we’ll bring a packed lunch and set out for adventure. The plains are brimming with iconic wildlife species like the lion, hyena, cheetah, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, and so much more. Safaris in Tanzania are often renowned for the opportunity to come across the famed Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and buffalo), but you’ll soon discover how much more the Serengeti has to offer. After enjoying a full morning of game viewing, we’ll stop in a wild, scenic spot to enjoy lunch. Then we’ll take the rest of the afternoon to spot wildlife at our leisure before returning to Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge for a romantic dinner under the stars.

This morning, we’ll have to bid a reluctant farewell to the rolling plains and mysterious riverine forests of the Serengeti—but there’s more excitement in store on your Tanzania Honeymoon Luxury Safari. Our destination today is the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater: an ancient volcanic caldera formed more than two million years ago after a truly cataclysmic eruption. The resultant crater now serves as a splendid natural sanctuary for all manner of wildlife species, including the exceedingly rare black rhinoceros. We’ll descend into the crater today to search for this elusive herbivore, and we’re sure to encounter lions, hyenas, and more along the way. Later, we’ll depart from Ngorongoro and spend the night at the nearby Marera Valley Lodge, known for its exquisite service and hospitality.

Later, we’ll make the short drive back to Arusha and the Kilimanjaro International Airport.
