Day 1

Transfer from Entebbe to Murchison Falls NP via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary

We will pick you up at the guest house in Entebbe or downtown Kampala at 8:00am and transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Rhino’s got extinct in Uganda in the early 1980s, and the Ziwa site is being used as a breeding site for the white Rhinos. Spend about 2hrs trekking the Rhinos, and we will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park.

In the morning, you will go for a game drive in the park to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, you will take a relaxing boat trip on the River Nile, and here you will have a chance to see crocodiles, hippos, and a range of rare birds. You will also see the point where the River Nile flows towards Lake Albert, one of the major highlights of this trip. Dinner and overnight at Murchison Falls.

Day 3

Drive to the Top of Murchison Falls & transfer to Kibale National Park (6hr drive)

Drive to the Top of Murchison Falls & transfer to Kibale National Park (6hr drive)

This trip will take you to upper Murchison Falls National Park, where you have spectacular views of Murchison Falls along the Nile River. Note that because of the current flooding of the Nile, it's no longer possible to hike to the top of the falls from downstream. The visit to the top of the falls will be driving through the new tarmac road. After the Top of the Falls visit, drive to Kibale National Park. The drive to Kibale National Park will go through western Uganda's major cities, including Hoima, Kyenjojo, and Fort Portal. There will be a scheduled stopover for lunch along the way. The drive should take about 6-7hrs. Dinner and overnight at Kibale National Park.

Starting in the morning at Kibale Forest National Park, you will go into the jungle to encounter chimpanzees and different species of monkeys like the Red Tailed Monkey, Olive baboon, and Black and White Columbus Monkey. If trekking is completed early, have a walk in the nearby Bigodi wetland in the afternoon. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park after the chimp trek at Kibale.

Kasenyi plains game drive
You will start the day with an early morning breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, we proceed to the famed Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot wild animals. Kasenyi plains dwell in the vast savannahs of the Albertine rift in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will be a morning full of adventure! Expect to encounter lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, topi, and bushbucks. While spotting the "Big Five" in the park is not guaranteed, on a lucky day, you may site leopards to make it to the "Big Four." We will return to the lodge for lunch.

Kazinga channel boat cruise
After lunch, join the Kazinga channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and bird species on the channel waters.

We will start the journey in the morning to Bwindi National Park and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. The tour will take you through the stunning landscapes of western Uganda. You will arrive at Bwindi National Park in the late afternoon.

On the way to Bwindi National Park, we will drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, popularly known for its tree-climbing lions. Unlike their counterparts at the Kasenyi plains, the lions at Ishasha have found a way to climb the fig trees to enjoy the warm temperatures in the park. While the sighting of the tree-climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover at Ishasha is worth a visit!

You will head to the Bwindi National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will conduct a presentation that covers the basics of what to expect during the gorilla trek. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take a few hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. In the afternoon, you may consider doing a Batwa Cultural Tour and contributing to sustainable tourism efforts in the area. An extra payment of USD30 is expected to support the Batwa community.

This will be the day to drive from Bwindi National Park to Entebbe or Kampala. The drive will follow the southwestern-Kampala route. The drive will take about 8-9hrs to go through western Uganda's major towns of Kabale, Ntungamo, Mbarara, and Masaka. There will be a scheduled stopover at Mbarara city for lunch and at the Equator crossing for coffee or handicraft shopping.
