After the that, we'll go into the jungle to a location where gorillas were spotted the night before, and we'll track from there. Depending on the family's location and the altitude, which must be over 7,500 feet, trekking could take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours. The muddy, uneven terrain demands that you be physically fit. Despite the hike's physical difficulty, it is enjoyable because of how lovely the forest and surroundings are. It is advised that you bring a lot of water on the walk. Each of the 29 islands on has its own unique and interesting story, which your local guide will narrate to among which is the Akampene island (Punishment's island ), also known as the "punishment island". This was used by the Biga community to punish girls by isolating those who would get pregnant before official marriage and this was a lesson to the rest not to make the same mistake.
