Day 1

Arusha to Lake Natron

Arusha to Lake Natron

After breakfast, you will depart towards Lake Natron. Lake Natron is a surreal destination and a unique natural spectacle. Its waters are highly alkaline and unusually shallow, averaging just one meter in depth. After checking into your lodge and a short break, you will put your walking shoes on as a Maasai tribesman takes you on a walk around the shores of Lake Natron. Be on the lookout for birds, especially the lesser flamingos. Lake Natron is the most important and regular breeding site for lesser flamingos in East Africa hosting up to 2 million of them during the breeding season. The majority of egg-laying and hatching takes place from September to January.

Day 2

Lake Natron to Central Serengeti National Park

Lake Natron to Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will leave Lake Natron and begin your journey toward Central Serengeti National Park.
The route passes through remote and beautiful landscapes before reaching the Serengeti ecosystem. After completing the park entrance formalities, you will begin your first game drive while travelling toward the Seronera area in Central Serengeti.
Along the way, you may encounter giraffes, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, gazelles and several species of predators. The journey itself becomes part of the safari experience, as wildlife sightings can occur throughout the drive.
Central Serengeti is known for its permanent water sources and rich wildlife population. The area provides excellent game viewing throughout the year and is particularly famous for lions, leopards and cheetahs.
You will arrive at your camp in time to relax and enjoy the surrounding wilderness.

Day 3

Full Game Drive at Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will depart with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive in Central Serengeti.
The Seronera region is one of the most productive wildlife-viewing areas in Serengeti National Park. Its network of rivers, valleys, grasslands and rocky outcrops supports a remarkable variety of animals throughout the year.
Your guide will follow recent wildlife movements and choose the best areas for game viewing. You may see lions resting near rocky kopjes, leopards hidden in acacia trees, cheetahs scanning the open plains and elephants moving between woodland areas.
Other commonly seen animals include buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, jackals and numerous species of antelopes. Central Serengeti is also home to an impressive variety of birdlife.
At midday, you will enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated area inside the park before continuing with your afternoon game drive.
In the late afternoon, you will return to your camp for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu

After breakfast, you will head to Ngorongoro Crater. You will drive to the Ngorongoro Highlands, and descend 600 meters onto the crater floor for a fantastic wildlife drive. The picnic lunch will be served at one of the crater's picnic areas. Many consider Ngorongoro Crater one of the world's natural marvels that you cannot afford to miss when planning your Tanzania safari. Its beauty is stunning regardless of the rainy or dry seasons. The crater has a large variety of animal species, yet just a few creatures go in and out of it. You may expect to see herds of wildebeests, zebras, hippos, elands, elephants, topis, and other animals. In addition, the endangered black rhinos may be found here in their native environment. The crater is also home to a variety of predators, including cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, lions, and the elusive leopards, which can be difficult to observe at times. Finally, you will drive to Karatu for an overnight stay.

Tarangire National Park to Arusha

Tarangire National Park to Arusha

After an early breakfast, you will depart from Karatu and drive to Tarangire National Park for the final game drive of your safari.
Tarangire is famous for its ancient baobab trees, seasonal swamps and the Tarangire River, which attracts wildlife from across the surrounding ecosystem. During the dry season, the park is particularly well known for its large herds of elephants.
You may also see giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs and several species of predators. Tarangire is also one of Tanzania’s finest birdwatching destinations, with hundreds of recorded bird species.
You will enjoy a game drive and picnic lunch inside the park before beginning your journey toward Kilimanjaro International Airport.
