Day 1

Game Drive in the Ngorongoro Crater

You will meet your driver at the lodge and travel to the entrance of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon completing the entry formalities, you will descend into the crater for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater, which is 600 meters deep and 250 square kilometers in size, consists mostly of open grassland. It is home to a diverse array of animals, such as elephants, black rhinoceroses, leopards, buffalo, zebras, warthogs, gnu (wildebeests), Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, and the world's densest population of lions. The local Maasai people also graze their livestock in Ngorongoro Highlands. You will have lunch at the Lake Ngoitoktok picnic site in the crater. After lunch, you will exit the crater and drive to Ndutu Plains in the southern parts of the conservation area, where you will spend the night.

After enjoying an early breakfast, you will embark on a safari to explore the Ndutu Plains. This area is known for its rich wildlife, stunning landscapes, and the famous annual wildebeest migration. For wildlife enthusiasts, Ndutu is an excellent destination, especially during the wildebeest migration and calving season, which takes place from December to the end of March. During the tour, you'll stop for a picnic lunch at a designated area in Ndutu. Later in the evening, you will return to the lodge for the night.

After enjoying an early breakfast, you will embark on a thrilling exploration of the Ndutu plains. The sunrise in Ndutu offers a breathtaking view of the plains, making it the perfect opportunity to capture stunning photographs of your safari. During this time, you will also have the chance to witness the active predators of the plains as they hunt for their food, which is sure to be an exciting sight. Later, you will stop for lunch before departing for Arusha around midday. Your dedicated guide will then drop you off at either your lodge or the airport.
