Ngorongoro Crater to Southern Serengeti ( Ndutu )

After breakfast you will proceed to Ngorongoro Area. Today you will visit one of the seven African wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater, created when a huge volcano erupted two million years ago. The fertile lava has created a unique ecosystem; the crater has the highest concentration of animals than anywhere in Africa.

The Ngorongoro Crater is home to many lion families, buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, and many more species. Nowhere else offers a chance as good as this to spot the rare black rhinos. Then, you will drive to Southern Serengeti known as Ndutu Area for an evening Game drive and dinner.

Ndutu forms a part of the route for the annual migration of more than 2 million wildebeests and thousands of zebra, antelope and gazelle. During game drives at the right season between December and April, you will be able to see the fertile plains turn into calving grounds and nursery for the great migration. The calving season attracts hordes of predators prying on vulnerable young wildebeest.

Full Game Drive at Ndutu Area

After our hearty breakfast, we head out to enjoy a full day game drive in the Ndutu region. We endeavor to explore the range of different habitats found here that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes, and the world-famous Serengeti short grass plains. We will see the awesome sight of the great thronging herds of wildebeest and zebra. During a short time frame around January to March, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calves, dropping in the region of half a million young in this awesome act of synchronized birthing. The sea of grass provides little cover and the young Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd.
As our full day of adventure upon the ‘Endless Plain,’ we depart to our accommodation for dinner and Overnight.
