Johannesburg to Kruger NP
Pick up guests early at around 05h00 to avoid heavy traffic, and head east. We enjoy a full breakfast on the way at a 1-Stop restaurant, and continue. It is an approximate 5-6 hour journey to Kruger NationaL Park (KNP), depending on conditions. We also have lunch on the way. We enter the park early afternoon, and head to Berg-en-Dal (Hill-and-Valley) Rest Camp, where you can relax until around 16h00 when we re-assemble for the afternoon game drive on one of the loops near the camp. We take a cooler box with us filled with refreshments and snacks, for a sundowner at a picturesque spot (preferably a resting predator or some elephants!) We return to camp just after sunset for a barbeque (braai) and dinner. Then early to bed after the long drive. David is a professionally qualified cultural tour guide, but has spent hundreds of hours in the bushveld, and is also a professional photographer and cinematographer of some 40-50 years standing.

Berg-en-Dal to Skukuza Rest Camp
We wake early and leave at dawn, with baggage, coffee and rusks packed for the early morning game drive. We head north, towards Skukuza. This is a three-hour drive if you don't see much in the way of animals, much longer if, as is likely, we see a lot of animals on the way. We stop at the Afsaal Traders' Rest for a quick breakfast, and continue the game drive. We check in at Skukuza just before lunch, which we eat at the Restaurant. You are then free to relax until around 16h00 when we reassemble for the afternoon game drive. This can either be on one of the many loops along the nearby rivers, or a wait at a waterhole for the local leopard while sipping a sundowner. Back to camp for dinner either at the restaurant or a braai at the bungalow before going to bed.

Skukuza to Lower Sabie or Crocodile Bridge
After a short game drive of about two to three hours early in the morning, we return to Skukuza for a hearty breakfast, before leaving for Lower Sabie Rest Camp, an approximately two-hour drive. Lower Sabie is probably the prettiest of the rest camps, with bungalows under huge fig and fever trees, overlooking the river, which teems with hippo and crocodiles, and lots of birds. After lunch at the restaurant, you can rest or walk around the camp, or visit the swimming pool, until the 16h00 game drive, which is a short drive of about two hours in the surrounding area. An optional extra (not included in the cost) is a night game drive, which is shared with other guests, but accompanied by a ranger in a large game drive vehicle and allows one to see predators or other night life in the reserve. AFter that, it's supper and then off to bed.

Kruger NP and back to Johannesburg
The chance to sleep in (or a game drive if you are up for it!) and then, after a hearty breakfast, we check out and head back to Johannesburg. Again, this is about a 6-7-hour trip with a game drive down from Lower Sabie to Crocodile Bridge to remind you to come back again! Lunch is again at a stopover restaurant, and then you return to your hotel before sunset for the end of the tour.
