Encountering Ngorongoro Highlands

After pick up in Arusha, you will drive to Olmoti Crater, where you descend to view the waterfall and the crater. After the ascent, you will drive to the Empakai crater, where you will go into the crater. You will see a lot of flamingos. Your first night will be at the rim of the crater.

Up to Acacia Camp

On the second day, you will hike to Acacia Camp (5-6 hours hike) through the Ngorongoro Highlands. The landscape is amazing, and Oldonyo Lengai is constantly on your sight. You will meet Maasai people during your hike. Your guide, ranger, and the donkeys will follow your path also. The camp will be set up under acacia trees, and dinner will be prepared for you.

Entering Lake Natron

After breakfast, you will hike to the bottom of Oldonyo Lengai ( 4 hours). Here, the car will pick you up and bring you to Lake Natron Maasai guesthouse. After lunch and resting, you will walk to the village Engaresero, where you can meet local Maasai people. Dinner will be served at the guesthouse.

Exploring Lake Natron

After breakfast, you will be hiking to the waterfalls of Engaresero, where you can take a swim in the very fresh water. After lunch, you can visit Lake Natron with its huge number of flamingos. You will be able to watch the sunset from a nice viewpoint. Dinner will be served at the guesthouse.

Back to Arusha

After late breakfast, you will have time to travel back to Arusha. This ride will take approximately 5 hours. You will get a lunchbox. You will be dropped off at any place you want.
