Named after the Tarangire River, this park serves as the primary water source for wildlife during the dry season. Renowned for its elephant families gathering by the river, the park also offers sightings of giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, often accompanied by predators like lions and leopards.
Tarangire boasts more breeding bird species than any other place on Earth, and its landscape is adorned with ancient Baobab trees, some over a thousand years old. Lunch will be enjoyed at a picnic site within the park, and after the game drive, you'll be transported to your accommodation at Karatu.

It's compact, being one of Africa's narrowest parks, yet it's epic with the imposing Great Rift Escarpment overlooking Lake Manyara's western boundary.
The park gets its name from a shallow, salt lake that fluctuates in size with the seasons. This lake is a haven for numerous wading birds, including flamingos and over 500 other bird species. Keep an eye out for baboons and elephants in the lush evergreen forest, and be on the lookout for the renowned tree-climbing lions that have gained fame across Africa.
After a full day in the park, make a short drive to your accommodation in Karatu.
