Arusha Town to Serengeti National Park

The Maasai word Siringit, which means "endless plains," is where the name Serengeti originates. The grassland savannah, broken only by the so-called kopjes, stretches to the horizon in the south. You will soon see why the Maasai gave this area its name. The weathering of granite outcrops has created these strange rock formations known as kopjes. Leopards and other large cats have ideal hunting grounds in the plains. With the car's roof open, you will have a great opportunity to see these amazing animals in their indigenous environment. Your day's destination, the Seronera Valley in the Central Serengeti region, will be reached in the afternoon. You will camp for the night and stay in safari-styled tents enjoying a good meal in the middle of the African bush.
