Fly to Kogatende

Depart after breakfast for a morning flight to Kogatende. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by Bujo Tours drive guide and start game drive. River crossings at Kogatende start to occur every day in August as the mega herd settles into the area. From July to October, game viewing up here is superb with river crossings pretty much guaranteed every day. There is no distinct movement as the herds tend to cross back and forth over the river, following the rains and subsequent fresh grasses. It is not uncommon to see different herds crossing in different directions on the same day.

Around Mara River

From July to September, the Mara River in this region offers the most dramatic river crossing of the great migration. If it’s your lucky day you will be able to witness this natural wonder and watch nature take its course. Tracing the great migration, you might even move towards the Lobo valley. The pristine lobo valley is scattered with woodlands, plains, hills and famous granite Kopjes. It offers enormous amount of big cat game with lions, leopards and cheetah in plenty. During the dry season, the permanent water sources in the valley attract plenty of resident and migratory animals, resulting in excellent game viewing. During the full day game drive, you will have a stop where you can have your picnic lunch. The day comes to an end with a tasty dinner and a good rest in your accommodation.

Around Mara River

After breakfast time is yours, you will spend the full day at the river waiting for migration crossing. Around the Mara River, there are bigger areas to explore, you have options to drive into different locations and times while waiting for the migration river crossing. You will spend a full day in search of animals. The great migration will be along the Mara River and this will be your opportunity to see them crossing the famous Mara River full of crocodiles ambushing them. You will also see hippos, lions, elephants, giraffes, warthogs and if you are lucky you may see the endangered black rhino. You will spend a day at the river for best explorations at your own pace, this will be the day you expected for migration sightings.

Fly to Arusha

Depart after your hotel breakfast for a morning game drive. In the afternoon, transfer to Kogatende Airstrip for your flight to Arusha. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro airport for your home flight or to your hotel.
