Today will be an early start as it is an 8-hour drive to Ithuba. This includes all meals, soft drinks, park fees, and activities in North Park (with 1 activity a day - a long morning walking safari or game drive according to preference)

Ithuba Community Camp is located on the eastern boundary of the North Luangwa National Park within Chifunda, part of Musulangu GMA. Surrounded by beautiful cathedral mopane woodland and situated on the banks of the mighty Luangwa River, it consists of four twin bed en suite walk-in safari tents, each with its mini-outdoor kitchen with basic self-catering equipment and facilities.

You'll relax on your private verandah overlooking the Luangwa River to watch the sunset, listen to the honks of boisterous hippos, and watch impalas and warthogs come to quench their thirst while avoiding the basking crocodiles. Ithuba Camp

This day includes all meals, soft drinks, park fees, and activities in North Park (1 activity a day; long morning walking safari or game drives according to preference).

With over 450 bird species (seasonal) and over 60 different species of mammals, North Luangwa is a wildlife-rich paradise.

Founded as a game reserve in 1938, this remote 4,636km² tract of land was re-gazetted to become a national park in 1972. The North Luangwa protected ecosystem has now grown to over 22,000km² of virtually untouched landscapes, with the National Park at its heart.

The ecosystem is home to a unique and diverse species community and is one of the last large undisturbed regions in central Africa. As the only park in Zambia boasting the Big Five, it offers one of the most spectacular settings for game-viewing experiences in Zambia, if not the entire continent.

Ithuba

You will have an early departure from Ithuba to Luambe in time for lunch.

When on a game drive or walking in Luambe, it is almost impossible that you will encounter another safari vehicle. This means that you have total freedom on your game drives to spend the time exactly how you want. If you want to follow up on foot when hearing baboon alarm calls, then off you go! If you want to spend 45 minutes with the carmine bee-eaters, then that’s what you'll do. You'll have the entire park to yourself to enjoy at the pace you prefer.
