Day 1

Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park

Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park

At 07h30, we pick you up from your lodge or hotel in Victoria Falls, Livingstone, or Kasane for the transfer to Chobe National Park.

Your Botswana guide will meet you at the Kazungula Border for a short drive to the Chobe River jetty site. You will board the boat at 09h30 to commence a 3-hour boat game cruise into the Chobe National Park.

The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as you get the chance to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippo, crocodile, and scores of elephant and African buffalo making their way down to the river. The boat cruise ends at 12h30 - in time for lunch at the Chobe Safari Lodge.

After lunch, there is a chance to do last-minute shopping in Kasane as there are no shops in the park. You then depart on an afternoon game drive, the best time to see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink. Arrive in camp shortly after sunset for drinks around the campfire and dinner under the stars.

Day 2

Safari in Chobe National Park

Safari in Chobe National Park

Rise and shine at dawn with a quick hot cup of tea or coffee and a light continental breakfast before heading off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats or the rare wild dogs as they are still active and hunting and the chances of seeing them are good. Around mid- to late morning, you return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and siesta, getting an opportunity to read, rest, and take a refreshing shower.

When the day starts to cool off, another game drive follows afternoon tea. We'll revisit good sightings, otherwise visit the unexplored areas. Chobe National Park has a wide variety of game including cats and large herbivores such as elephant and buffalo which are a highlight, but rarer game such as puku, eland, sable, and roan antelope among others are also present.

Return to camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night.
