Day 1

One of the largest wildlife reserves in Kenya

One of the largest wildlife reserves in Kenya

Now is the moment when all of the planning pays off and your safari dreams begin to come true. You'll meet our team, we'll explain what happens next and answer any questions you might have.
Tsavo East is one of our favorite parks in Kenya, and we love it most of all for its elephants (often caked in Tsavo's red dust) and its wild lions: the male lions of Tsavo are famous for not having manes. Many visitors see cheetahs hunting out on the eastern plains of the park, and you might also see gerenuk, Somali ostrich and the very hard-to-find hirola antelope. Almost 500 different species of bird have been seen in the park.

Staying at Ashnil Aruba puts you right in the heart of Tsavo East, and the location (near Aruba Dam and the plains in the heart of the park) is excellent for seeing wildlife that might include elephants, lions and cheetahs. Accommodation is in safari tents or rooms, all nicely decorated with safari-themed decor.
