Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park

Your safari adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, driving southeast along the scenic Mombasa Highway toward Tsavo East National Park, one of the largest and oldest wildlife parks in Kenya. After a 5–6-hour drive, you’ll arrive at the Tsavo East National Park, where you’ll begin your first game drive en route to your lodge or tented camp. As you explore the vast red-earth plains, keep an eye out for elephants, zebras, giraffes, and the elusive big cats that roam the park.

After check-in, enjoy lunch and some time to relax. In the late afternoon, head out for another game drive to explore more of Tsavo East's diverse landscapes, including the Galana River and the Aruba Dam, both hotspots for wildlife sightings. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and a restful night under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

Tsavo East National Park

After an early breakfast, set out on a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. Your guide will take you deeper into the park, where you'll have chances to spot elephants covered in red dust, prides of lions, herds of buffalo, graceful gazelles, and a variety of birdlife. You may also visit sites like the Mudanda Rock, a natural viewpoint overlooking a watering hole, or the Lugard Falls, where the Galana River cascades over uniquely shaped rocks.

Return to your lodge or camp for lunch and a bit of relaxation, then head out again in the afternoon for a sunset game drive, a magical time to witness wildlife and the golden hues of the savannah. Later, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Tsavo East to Nairobi
