Day 1

Arusha City to Tarangire National Park

Arusha City to Tarangire National Park

During this season, Tarangire National Park becomes a bustling hub as thousands of animals migrate to the Tarangire River for water. Spanning 2,600 sqkm, the park is renowned for its vast herds of elephants and buffalo. Visitors can also spot lions, giraffes, impalas, wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles. Additionally, Tarangire is home to the rare fringe-eared Oryx. Another highlight of the tour is the Olduvai Gorge, located 180 km from Arusha within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This historic site is where Dr. Louis Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis, marking a significant milestone in human evolution. Numerous fossils, including those of prehistoric elephants, giant horned sheep, and enormous ostriches, have been unearthed here. Following a thrilling game drive in the park, we return to Mto wa mbu for overnight.

After breakfast, we'll embark on a scenic drive to Serengeti National Park, passing through Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where picturesque highland farmland awaits. As we leave the highlands behind, the landscape transforms into the iconic grasslands of the Serengeti, symbolizing the untamed spirit of Africa. Our destination is the Seronera section, renowned for its abundant wildlife, centered around the Seronera River. This vital water source attracts a diverse array of Serengeti's species. Upon arrival, lunch will be served, followed by an afternoon wildlife drive to explore the park's wonders. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be provided at your campsite.

Start your early morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Your preferences guide the day's plan, ensuring a tailored experience. Consult with your guide each day for optimal timing of activities, including game drives and wake-up calls. Today, options include a morning game drive followed by lunch or brunch and relaxation at the camp/lodge before an afternoon game drive. Alternatively, enjoy a game drive with a picnic lunch. After exploring, return to the campsite.

Set off after an early breakfast for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying game drives en route. During the journey, you'll have the opportunity to visit one of the Maasai villages for a cultural experience lasting at least 30 minutes. Your overnight stay will be at Simba Public Campsite.

The day kicks off early with a picnic lunch before descending 2000 feet to the Crater floor in our 4WD vehicle for wildlife viewing. Explore the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, known for its abundant grassland, marshes, woodland, and constant water sources, which support a diverse array of fauna. Afterwards, head to Mto wa mbu for camping.
