Day 2

After indulging in a hearty breakfast, it's time to bid farewell to Serengeti and make your way to Ngorongoro. Descending some 600 meters into the crater, you'll step into the quintessential African landscape—a realm reminiscent of days gone by. Here, you'll explore a crater that serves as a permanent home to a thriving wildlife population, often likened to Africa's "Garden of Eden."

Traveling in a specially designed 4x4 vehicle for optimal game viewing, you'll have the opportunity to encounter the renowned Big Five—elephants, buffalos, leopards, black-maned lions, and the elusive black rhinoceros. Keep a keen eye out for other fascinating species like hyenas, jackals, elegant flamingos, and the iconic yawning hippos.

Enjoy a delightful picnic lunch at the heart of this ancient volcanic crater, near the hippo pool. As early evening approaches, journey to Angata Ngorongoro Tented Camp, where a delicious dinner and a peaceful night's rest await.

Following your morning meal, you'll venture into the vibrant Ngorongoro Crater, armed with your lunch box for an extensive game drive. This crater serves as a haven for approximately 30,000 animals, including the elusive black rhinos.

Within this distinctive ecosystem, you'll encounter a diverse array of wildlife, ranging from wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, and warthogs to the tranquil presence of hippos and majestic elephants. The park is also home to a variety of predators, such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and leopards.

As the late afternoon approaches, you'll ascend from the crater floor and commence your journey back to Arusha for your overnight stay.
