Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport. After meeting your driver-guide and receiving a short briefing, you’ll set off towards the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve. The journey takes you through the Great Rift Valley, offering stunning scenery and a chance to stop at scenic viewpoints along the way.

You’ll arrive in the Masai Mara in time for lunch at your lodge or tented camp, followed by a short rest. In the afternoon, you’ll head out for your first exciting game drive across the rolling savannah. This initial outing offers a great opportunity to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and perhaps a lion lounging in the golden grass. You’ll return to your lodge before sunset to enjoy dinner and your first overnight stay in the wild.

The Masai Mara is renowned for its abundant wildlife and is home to the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—as well as cheetahs, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, and countless bird species.

You may visit the Mara River, where large pods of hippos and crocodiles bask along the banks, and where seasonal wildebeest crossings take place. There is also an option to visit a nearby Maasai village to learn about the community’s traditional lifestyle (optional).
